Here I'am Asmita Adhikari

Hi, I’m Asmita Adhikari—an engineer, researcher, and artist who’s passionate about solving problems, exploring creativity, and inspiring connections.

I Am Aspiring Civil Engineer

I am a recent Civil Engineering graduate form IOE Pashchimanchal Campus. I have a deep interest in exploring interdisciplinary fields with numerical and experimental modeling, laboratory analysis, fieldwok, hazard mapping, risk mitigation, and innovative methodologies to enhance construction practices. My dedication and competence in research shine through in my ability to tackle complex problems with creativity and precision, always aiming to contribute meaningfully to the field.

But hey, I’m not all work and no play! When I’m not researching, you’ll probably find me hiking scenic trails, bringing ideas to life as a professional sketch artist, or dancing like no one’s watching. I’m also passionate about public speaking, finding joy in sharing ideas and inspiring others. And trust me, there’s never a dull moment around me—I’m all about laughter and good vibes. Whether you’re looking for a research collaborator, an adventurous hiking buddy, or someone to share ideas and creativity with, I’m just a message away!

Landslide Susceptibility Mapping Along Siddhartha Highway

FINAL YEAR ACADEMIC PROJET
Developed validated susceptibility maps; analyzed with AUC ROC.

  • Used Python in ArcGIS software to:
    i. Create shapefile of the landslides by importing data from CSV file.
ii. Develop factor maps including: slope, aspect, curvature, elevation, distance from highway and distance from drainage.

  • Developed landslide susceptibility maps using four models: Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), Frequency Ratio (FR), Index of Entropy (IoE), Weight of Evidence (WoE)

  • Validated accuracy of models using AUC ROC curve.
Comparative Analysis of Landslide Susceptibility Mapping Techniques in the context of National Highway of Nepal.

Compared landslide susceptibility mapping models for highways in Nepal, highlighting the advantages and limitations of each.

Review of Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis of Nepal

Identified research gaps in past PSHA studies of Nepal to shape future research directions.

A Review of Various Landslide Susceptibility Mapping Techniques Used in Nepal.

Reviewed, compared landslide mapping methods, and identified research gaps.
